Microsoft Investing $900M in China

On the heels of Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit with Bill Gates and the announcement that China's Lenovo will spend $1.2 billion to pre-install Windows on its PCs, Microsoft has announced a major investment in China.

According to a report by Dan Fost at the SF Chronicle, Microsoft plans to spend $700 million on Chinese hardware during the next five years. It will also invest approximately $200 million in joint ventures with Chinese software companies, and will train 10,000 software engineers.
