Calif. Bans Holding Cell Phones While Driving

Computerworld reports that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a new law today that bans motorists from holding cell phones while driving. The law, which aims to prevent accidents caused by distracted drivers, will go into effect in 2008.
If caught talking on their phones while driving (without using a hands-free device), California drivers will face a minimum fine of $20. The state joins New York, Washington D.C., New Jersey and Connecticut, which already have similiar laws in place. Read on for more info.
