AT&T Announces Mobile Banking

According to Reuters, AT&T has announced deals with Wachovia, SunTrust and other banks that will allow its Cingular customers to manage their bank accounts and pay bills electronically via their cell phones. The news comes on the heels of another announcement by AT&T that about 1 million people have inquired about the availability of Apple's upcoming iPhone, also offered via AT&T's Cingular.

Many in the wireless industry are gathered in Orlando this week for the CTIA Wireless event, billed as the world's largest wireless marketplace.
