U.S. Drops in World Economic Forum Rankings

The Geneva-based World Economic Forum released its annual Network Readiness Index (NRI) rankings yesterday and the No. 1 spot went to Denmark. The United States, which topped the list last year, dropped to 7th-place in a tie with the Netherlands.

  1. Denmark
  2. Sweden
  3. Singapore
  4. Finland
  5. Switzerland
  6. Netherlands
  7. United States
  8. Iceland
  9. United Kingdom
  10. Norway

According to this USA Today article, the report "largely blamed increased political and corporate interference in the judicial system" as the reason for the U.S.' lower ranking. A total of 122 countries were ranked, and you can check out the entire list here.
