House Passes Broadband Mapping Bill

As we wrote about last month, Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) has sponsored "home run" legislation, known as the Broadband Census of America Act, designed to improve the way the United States collects and shares data on broadband availability and speeds.

As Ars Technica reports, the bill passed the full House today by a voice vote and Rep. Markey said in a statement, "this broadband mapping bill reflects the fact that current data collection methods used by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are inadequate and highly flawed."
