Survey Says: Zogby/463 Internet Poll
Jan 31, 2008
463 Communications has teamed up with the researchers at Zogby International to conduct another Internet poll. The online survey, which was fielded last week, asked 3,585 adults for their opinions on a variety of tech-related issues .
Here's a quick look at what they discovered:
- When asked if they thought the next President would know as much about the Internet as they do, almost 45% answered yes. It would be interesting to see the results of that same question after the November election.
- They were also asked which tech policy issue should be the top priority for the next President of the United States, and the most popular response was energy policy (38%), followed by privacy and security (29%), health IT (14%) and bridging the digital divide (4%).
- Almost half of people surveyed, 48% to be exact, said that their primary source of knowledge about the presidential candidates is the Internet, compared with 31% who cited TV and 13% who relied on the radio for their info. Not surprisingly, respondents under the age of 29 were much more likely to get candidate info online than those over the age of 65.
- When it came to using the Internet to cast a vote, 67% of respondents felt that it could lead to fraud.
My personal favorite though is: 89 percent of people surveyed said that the access to information found on the Internet has made them smarter.
