Lessig Launches Change Congress; Considers Run
Feb 20, 2008
Stanford law professor Larry Lessig stepped up his crusade against the "corruption of the political process" yesterday by officially announcing a grassroots campaign called Change Congress to encourage legislators to take a three-step pledge: to promise not to take money from lobbyists or PACs, to vote in favor of banning earmarks and to support public financing of campaigns.
Lessig also responded to calls that he run for the Bay Area Congressional seat that had been held by Rep. Tom Lantos. He said he's considering entering the race against former state senator Jackie Speier and will make a formal decision around March 1st. You can hear more about both announcements in Lessig's video in the Media Vault.
