News From Who's Who
Aug 21, 2008
From time to time, we like to highlight some of the press releases and announcements you can find in the Who's Who section of Tech Policy Central.
Who's Who is another resource you can use to keep tabs on the growing tech policy space, and the dozens of think tanks, coalitions and trade associations behind the scenes. Below are some highlights from the last week:
- The Internet Governance Project called on the United Nations to reconsider the theme for its upcoming UN Internet Governance Forum meeting in India this December.
- ICANN announced a series of regional meetings around the world to discuss the organization's future, including one in Washington, D.C. on September 30th.
- The Entertainment Software Association hired former RIAA executive Kenneth Doroshow as its new general counsel.
- The Cato Institute released a briefing written by Cypress Semiconductor CEO T.J. Rodgers, who argues that passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act has made it more difficult (not less) for investors and executives to understand company's financial reports.
