President Names Aneesh Chopra as National CTO
Apr 18, 2009
After months of speculation about who would be selected as the nation's first Chief Technology Officer, news broke yesterday that President Obama's choice is none other than Virgina's Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra.
The reaction to the news has been overwhelmingly positive among the bloggers and Twitterati that we follow, and we share their excitement and optimism about Mr. Chopra's new role. There will be many more profiles and stories in the coming weeks as we learn more about the CTO's plans, including how he'll work with CIO Vivek Kundra, but you can check out a quick introduction from the President's weekly address in the Media Vault.
Micah Sifry and Tim O'Reilly have also written posts about why they think Mr. Chopra is an excellent pick.
