CEA Hosts Apps for Innovation Contest

Nov 9, 2009

As part of its Innovation Movement campaign, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is hosting its first-ever apps contest for software developers.

Developers are invited to submit applications using the platform of their choice in one of two categories:

  • Apps that show how innovation and entrepreneurial activity are at work across America
  • Apps that will help advance policy goals that support innovation

The deadline to enter the contest has been extended to Monday, December 14th and the grand prize includes $10,000 and a travel package to attend the 2010 International CES in style. The second and third place winners will also receive cash prizes of $5,000 and $3,500 respectively.

So if you want to show support for CEA's Innovation Movement and you have the skills and creativity to develop a clever app, check out the contest Web site for more specifics.

For the record, while we are co-hosting Tech Policy Summit @ CES with the government affairs team at CEA, we are not affiliated with the Innovation Movement apps contest.
